‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ New Video Shares First Behind-the-Scenes Footage

20th Century Fox has just released the first “War for the Planet of the Apes” behind-the-scenes footage. Besides featuring a look at the movie’s set, the video announces a contest for fans who wish to be involved in the apes movie.

The video opens with a group of soldiers walking through a jungle with weapons in hands. It then continues showing director Matt Reeves and Andy Serkis introducing the contest.

“We’re giving one lucky fan the chance to become an ape in Caesar’s greatest battle yet,” Serkis says in the video. “Simply submit a video of your most lifelike ape imitation at APESCONTEST.COM and we’ll pick one winner to fly to set, wear a performance-capture suit, and be in a scene.”

After watching the short video, fans know that the movie will include explosions and numerous CGI apes. The upcoming movie takes place after the events of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes“. Caesar is going to be thrust into circumstances that he never, ever wanted to deal with, and was hoping he could avoid. And now he is right in the middle of it.

Serkis is joined by the likes of Woody Harrelson, Judy Greer, Steve Zahn and Amiah Miller in the cast. “War For the Planet of the Apes” is scheduled to open in the U.S. on July 14, 2017.
