Rita Ora has signed a worldwide recording contract with Atlantic Records (June 20). The British singer’s confirmed new contract comes almost two weeks after her reported signing with Warner Music and departure with Roc Nation June 8.

First and foremost she’s a great singer who’s hugely passionate about music and I’m delighted to welcome her to Atlantic Records, said Atlantic Records UK President Ben Cook, who also represents Ed Sheeran, Birdy and Marina and the Diamonds. We look forward to getting in the studio with her and making an incredible album.”

Months ago, the singer sued the company in order to be freed from her contract with the label, claiming a change in direction led to her being forgotten about.

Legal proceedings began in December 2015, with Ora claiming that the five-album deal she signed with Roc Nation in 2008 at age 18 violated California rule that a personal services contract cannot be enforced beyond a period of seven years. Roc Nation later responded by filing a counter-lawsuit against the singer, with the outcome of this yet to be determined.
