Days after being accused of copyright infringement, Ghanaian Afrobeat and highlife music group Gallaxy has spoken to the matter.
Speaking with Gloria Akpene Nyarko ‘MzGee’ on Hitz 103.9Fm over the weekend, the music group said they never knew an artist as Nana Ama existed until her manager called into their radio interview on Kasapa 102.3FM to accuse them of musical theft.
“How do we use a material that never existed? There’s no way we would use someone’s intellectual property without their consent”
The group continued to explain that the beat was produced by Takoradi based sound engineer Willis Beatz a few months ago and was officially released by Harbour City Recordz on the 12th of October 2015 on the internet for free downloads.
On the other hand Nana Ama’s manager who said he wasn’t convinced with Gallaxy’s submission said his team will delve deep further into the case to seek justice for Nana Ama.
