Coming off a very successful One Hell of A Night tour with American R&B star Chris Brown in Europe and shooting a new music video with UK’s finest Tinie Tempah for their new single Mamacinta, Nigerian Afrobeats artist Wizkid is on to the next one as he headed straight the United States of America where he was spotted recording a new single with hip hop recording artist and record producer Swizz Beatz.
The feat does not stop there as reliable information available to us at www.nydjlive.com indicate that plans are far advanced to have Wizkid perform with Drake at the 2016 BET Awards which is scheduled to hold at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday June 26 2016.
In an exclusive interview with Fox FM’s Lovin Cee, Lipede Adewole of Backhome Productions, a media outfit based in LA with affiliations with BET International, plans were far advanced for Wizkid to join Drake perform at the BETs.
Answering a question as to when acts from Africa could make a debut on the awards stage to perform, Lipede broke a big news as he said;
“This year we are working on a big deal. Hopefully we can get Wizkid to join Drake on stage. it’s just a matter of time”
This comes as not too much of a surprise to us as the two with Kyla have one of the biggest songs of the world at the moment One Dance. One Dance since its release has topped Billboard charts for the past 7 weeks and still growing strong.
