Despite the many feats Erykah Badu has chalked in her career as a DJ and songstress, she’s yet to to take up the job of a host and that will be made manifest pretty soon as she has been announced host for this year’s Soul Train Awards.
This year, the Awards will honor Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds with the Legend Award and Jill Scott, who will accept the first-ever Lady of Soul Award.
Leading nominations at this year’s Soul Train Awards are The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, and Mark Ronson with five nominations each, while Beyoncé, Chris Brown, Jidenna, and Tyrese follow with four nods.
The soulstress will help celebrate today’s biggest stars and R&B legends during the ceremony, which will be taped on Nov. 6 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, and air Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. EST on Centric and BET.
It is unknown some of the crazy things the sousltress could especially being so unpredictable. Once she tried to kiss a reporter during a live broadcast and even stripped naked in public in her music video for “Window Seat.”
