Statement: University of Ghana will not allow Dumsor Vigil |We are not aware of it

Authorities at the University of Ghana have denied granting permission to the organizers of the #dumsormuststop ‘peaceful vigil’ to use its Stadium.

A statement released in Accra Thursday by the school’s Registrar says they are “not aware of, either has it granted nor is in the process of granting permission to any person or group of persons seeking to organize or hold any such procession or vigil on/or in connection with any such activity.”

The statement comes hours after the organizers were given the green light by the Greater Accra Regional Police command.

A setback, the organizers may have to look for another starting venue. The #dumsormuststop vigil was to start at the school’s stadium and end at the Green Park opposite the Villagio apartments near the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange in Accra.
