Two expelled from Big Brother South Africa due to rape allegations

South Africa is fuming following claims that a  female housemate was raped on the ongoing Big Brother Mzansi (South Africa) reality show. The incident has forced the organizers of the show, produced by Endemol SA for Mzansi Magic on DStv, to expel  Siyanda Ngwenya (Adam), who committed the offence.

A statement on the show’s website says fellow housemate, Axola Mbengo who is also known as ‘Bexx’, was also removed from the house for “her own well-being.” Both the contestants went under debriefing sessions by the resident psychologist while their partners, who are also on the show, were given the option of staying on.

Big Brother formally announced the decision to the rest of the housemates Monday night. Adam is alleged to have raped Bexx Saturday night while she was completely drunk and had no control of her senses. The two housemates had been seen several times flirting on the show. Adam is said to have lied about the incident when Bexx queried him on Sunday. He said nothing happened but he is alleged to have told another housemate that he had sex with her.

The incident has caused a huge uproar on twitter with many calling for the cancellation of the show which kicked off on March 22, 2015. Dubbed ‘Double Trouble’, the housemates entered this year’s 56-day reality show in pairs. Alex entered the show with Tembi (Tembela Magandela-Mthupha) while Bexx entered the house with Soxx (Sokhana Ralane). With Alex and Bexx out of the reality show, Tembi and Soxx were given the option to remain in the house, which they accepted. They will now form a pair.
